Kia has confirmed three powertrain paths for the 2027 Kia Seltos, giving drivers more flexibility than before. The lineup starts with a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine paired with Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission. For buyers who want stronger acceleration, the turbocharged 1.6 liter four cylinder produces an estimated 190 horsepower and comes with standard advanced Multi Mode AWD and an 8 speed automatic transmission with manual control. Kia has also announced a new hybrid powertrain built around a 1.6 liter engine and a 6 speed dual clutch transmission.

Capability is also part of the Seltos update. Kia says the 2.0L powertrain will be offered with front wheel drive or available all wheel drive, while the X-Line highlights adventure focused hardware such as Multi Terrain Mode for snow, mud, and sand in certain situations. Ground clearance increases to an available 8.1 inches, giving the new Seltos added confidence for changing road and weather conditions.

The 2027 Kia Seltos introduces a more mature and modern design while keeping the versatility that has made the model popular. Kia says the new Seltos uses styling cues from the Telluride, including amber daytime running light framing at the front fascia, bold angles, clean lines, and newly available flush door handles. The vehicle is also longer and wider than the previous generation, with a wheelbase that is 2.4 inches greater.

Inside, the redesign focuses on space and usability. Kia highlights a more open cabin layout, a horizontal dash theme, and improved room in key passenger areas. Rear legroom grows by 1 inch, and cargo capacity is estimated at 27.8 cubic feet behind the second row and 64.1 cubic feet behind the first row. Kia also adds a height adjustable and multi folding luggage board plus flexible cargo attachment points for more storage solutions.

Technology is one of the biggest upgrades for the 2027 Kia Seltos. Kia has confirmed a standard 12.3 inch touchscreen, available 12.3 inch instrument display, and an available 5 inch climate display for nearly 30 inches of combined screens. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto are standard, and Kia’s latest ccNC infotainment system supports over the air updates. Kia also says the new Seltos will offer a generative AI assistant and available entertainment streaming services.

Safety and driver assistance are also expanded. Kia says the 2027 Seltos offers 13 standard and up to 24 available collision avoidance and driver assistance features. Standard systems include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning, Front and Reverse Parking Distance Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist 2, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, and Intelligent Speed Limit Warning. Available upgrades include a 360 degree Surround View Monitor, Blind Spot View Monitor, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Warning, and Safe Exit Warning.
