Every 2027 Sportage Hybrid uses the same powertrain. A 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder works with a 64-horsepower electric motor and a 1.49-kWh lithium-ion battery for a combined system output of 232 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. Power runs through a conventional six-speed automatic rather than a CVT, for a more familiar shift feel than many rivals.

Drivetrain availability is the real 2027 story. The LX stays front-wheel drive only, the S and EX can now be ordered either way, and the X-Line and SX-Prestige remain all-wheel drive exclusively. At the pump, front-drive models earn an EPA-estimated 40 city/42 highway/41 combined MPG, while all-wheel-drive models are rated 35 city/36 highway/35 combined. This is a self-charging hybrid, so there is no plug and no charging stop to plan around.

Kia fits a 12.3-inch touchscreen to every 2027 Sportage Hybrid. What changes as you climb the range is what sits behind the steering wheel: LX, S, and EX pair that touchscreen with a 4.2-inch driver display, while the SX-Prestige gets a second 12.3-inch screen in a curved panoramic housing. The X-Line can add that same curved cluster through the Technology Package, which is new for 2027.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the lineup, along with SiriusXM and HD Radio. Built-in navigation is trim-gated: standard on the SX-Prestige, available on the X-Line with the Technology Package, and not offered on the LX, S, or EX. A wireless phone charger arrives at the EX.

Kia Drive Wise covers the driver-assistance equipment, and a substantial set is standard on all five trims: Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection plus junction turning, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Lane Following Assist 2, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, and High Beam Assist.

One gap is worth checking against your own shortlist. Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Safe Exit Warning are standard on the S, EX, X-Line, and SX-Prestige, but the LX does not offer blind-spot monitoring at all. The SX-Prestige adds the intervening Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, a full front, side, and rear parking sensor suite, and Highway Driving Assist 2.

Cargo capacity depends on where you set the two-position load floor. With the floor in its low position the Sportage Hybrid holds 39.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 73.7 cubic feet with them folded; raise the floor and those figures become 34.5 and 65.4 cubic feet. Cloth upholstery covers the LX and S, SynTex artificial leather arrives at the EX, and heated front seats are standard on everything except the LX.
