Discover the Driving Excitement of the All-New 2018 Kia Rio

We're super-excited about the news we've received about the 2018 Rio. Offered in both a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback design, the Rio offers subcompact car shoppers an attractive mix of design, safety, technology and efficiency -- and at a great price.

Kia is offering the Rio in three trim levels: LX, S and EX. All feature an improved Gamma 1.6-liter gasoline direct injection four-cylinder engine that delivers better fuel efficiency, more enjoyable driving dynamics and improved responsiveness.

The engine is paired to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The manual is rated at an estimated 29 mpg city/37 mpg highway; the automatic was estimated to get 28 mpg city/37 mpg highway.

In a press release, Orth Hedrick, Vice President of Product Planning, Kia Motors America, commented, "Value has always been a core tenet for the Kia brand and the all-new Rio sedan and 5-door continue to underscore our commitment to buyers looking for an entry-level vehicle but desire more than what the subcompact segment offers. This fourth-generation Rio makes significant improvements over its predecessor in design, technology and passenger comfort, resulting in an even better value proposition, while raising the bar in the small-car segment."
